Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the Home Counties in the search for a Senior Major Projects Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 6‐month contract (with the potential to extend).
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated planning professional to manage a challenging caseload of major planning applications.
Responsibilities- Consider and scrutinise major planning applications.
- Conduct technical assessments and prepare recommendations.
- Coordinate with the team and external professionals.
- Engage in communication and negotiation as required.
- Previously worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department.
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation and policies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Self‐starter with a can‐do attitude.
- Postgraduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline is beneficial.
- Eligibility for membership of RTPI.
- Hybrid working arrangements.
- Approx £50 per hour.
