Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the Home Counties in the search for a Senior Major Projects Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 6‐month contract (with the potential to extend).

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated planning professional to manage a challenging caseload of major planning applications.

Responsibilities
  • Consider and scrutinise major planning applications.
  • Conduct technical assessments and prepare recommendations.
  • Coordinate with the team and external professionals.
  • Engage in communication and negotiation as required.
Qualifications
  • Previously worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department.
  • Strong knowledge of planning legislation and policies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self‐starter with a can‐do attitude.
  • Postgraduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline is beneficial.
  • Eligibility for membership of RTPI.
