An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Highway CAD Technician with experience in highway design and CAD production to join a leading engineering and design consultancy in Central London. This role is primarily responsible for supporting the detailed design and delivery of highway engineering schemes, ensuring construction drawings, plans and schematics are produced accurately and in accordance with current design and engineering standards. The successful candidate will work across multiple transport and infrastructure projects while supporting the efficient delivery of schemes throughout London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing, reviewing and submitting highway and civil engineering design drawings.
  • Preparing detailed construction drawings, schematics and technical plans for highway schemes.
  • Producing Cycle Superhighway drawings and associated highway layouts.
  • Producing Traffic Management drawings in line with project requirements.
  • Preparing preliminary, detailed and construction stage civil engineering drawings.
  • Using 2D CAD software to support the delivery of infrastructure and highway projects.
  • Supporting design teams with coordination and technical drawing production.
  • Ensuring all drawings are completed in accordance with current design standards and project specifications.
  • Working independently to manage assigned drawing packages with minimal supervision.
  • Supporting the successful delivery of transportation and infrastructure schemes across London.
  • Contributing to programme delivery and ensuring deadlines are achieved.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience within Highway Design, Civil Engineering or CAD Technician roles.
  • Experience producing highway, traffic management or Cycle Superhighway drawings.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD Civils, Key Signs, Key Posts and Key Lines software/packages.

Additional Information

  • Experience producing highway, traffic management or Cycle Superhighway drawings would also be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD Civils, Key Signs, Key Posts and Key Lines software/packages would be advantageous.
