Outreach & Sustainment Officer East London | Contract Rate: £30.35 per hour (Umbrella) IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Initial Contract Length: 3 months Extension Potential: Subject to requirements Working Hours: 36 hours per week Role Summary We are currently recruiting for an experienced Outreach & Sustainment Officer to join a busy local authority housing team in East London on an initial 3-month contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering assertive outreach services to individuals sleeping rough, providing practical support, identifying accommodation pathways and helping vulnerable residents move away from the streets. What You Will Do as an Outreach & Sustainment Officer ·Deliver proactive, trauma-informed outreach sessions to identify, engage and support individuals sleeping rough, including responding to reports of people sleeping on the streets. ·Assess individual circumstances, vulnerabilities, safeguarding concerns and support needs, providing practical advice and access to appropriate housing, health and welfare services. ·Work with individuals experiencing homelessness to identify suitable accommodation pathways, overcome barriers to accessing housing and support sustainable moves away from rough sleeping. ·Provide ongoing tenancy sustainment support to individuals moving into temporary accommodation, supported housing or independent living, helping them settle, build independence and maintain their accommodation. ·Work collaboratively with housing teams, health professionals, support providers and external agencies to coordinate person-centred interventions and improve outcomes for vulnerable residents. What You Will Need as an Outreach & Sustainment Officer ·Previous experience working with homeless households, ideally including individuals with a history of rough sleeping or complex support needs. ·Strong understanding of the causes of homelessness, barriers to accessing accommodation and the challenges faced by individuals sleeping rough. ·Experience delivering outreach, housing support, homelessness prevention or tenancy sustainment services within a local authority or similar environment. ·Ability to assess individual needs, identify safeguarding risks and provide trauma-informed, person-centred support to vulnerable individuals. ·Excellent communication, case management and partnership working skills, with the flexibility to undertake regular outreach sessions across the local area. What's on Offer ·£30.35 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) - competitive contract rate. ·Initial 3-month contract with potential for extension, subject to service requirements. ·36 hours per week, working within a local authority homelessness outreach and sustainment service in East London, including regular community-based outreach.
