The Role
We are currently supporting a client-side team on the HS2 programme and are looking to appoint an experienced MEP Estimator to support works across major station packages. This is a client-facing assurance role, focused on cost verification and commercial challenge of MEP estimates submitted by Tier 1 MEP contractors. You will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, robustness, and value for money across large-scale infrastructure works. You must be technically capable to understand MEP estimates and be able to roll your sleeves up and undertake the cost verification personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and verifying MEP cost estimates submitted by MEP contractors
- Providing cost assurance and commercial challenge on behalf of the client
- Supporting the client team with cost validation, benchmarking, and reporting
- Working collaboratively with commercial, engineering, and delivery teams
- Attending the client's office in London or Birmingham as required (likely a couple of times per month)
Essential Experience
- Proven MEP estimating experience on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical cost planning and verification
- Experience working in a client-side, assurance, or independent checking capacity
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and contractors
