We are looking for an experienced Homelessness Strategic Lead to provide senior leadership across homelessness and rough sleeping services. This is a Head of Service-level position, with responsibility for service performance, financial sustainability, improvement and the delivery of effective outcomes for residents.
The Role
- Provide strategic leadership of Homelessness, Rough Sleeping and Supported Accommodation services.
- Lead service performance, financial management, value for money and continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver innovative approaches to homelessness prevention and rough sleeping.
- Lead and manage people, budgets and resources across the service.
- Work alongside other Strategic Leads covering Reporting & Assurance, Lettings & Housing Register and Temporary/Private Rented Accommodation.
- Drive service improvement and ensure effective governance and performance oversight.
- Work closely with Elected Members, senior leadership and external partners.
- Develop strong partnerships across local government, housing and the wider homelessness sector.
- Report directly to the Director of Housing Options and Homelessness.
Key Requirements
- Significant senior management experience within Homelessness and Housing Needs, operating at Head of Service or equivalent level.
- Strong knowledge of homelessness and rough sleeping services within a local authority environment.
- Experience leading large and complex housing services, including people, budgets and resources.
- Track record of improving service performance and delivering sustainable service improvement.
- Experience managing financial pressures and delivering value for money.
- Experience working with Elected Members, Directors and senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of partnership working across local government and the homelessness sector.
