Our client is seeking an experienced and community-focused Green Spaces professional to join their team. You will be responsible for managing the Grounds Maintenance Contract and acting as the first point of contact for councillors and local communities regarding the council's green spaces. You will play a key role in ensuring parks, cemeteries, commons and recreation grounds are safe, welcoming and well maintained, while supporting the delivery of strategic objectives and service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for councillors and communities, responding professionally to queries and concerns regarding green spaces.
- Manage the delivery and performance monitoring of the Grounds Maintenance Contract.
- Line manage the Green Spaces Monitoring Officer to ensure effective contract delivery.
- Undertake site visits to validate complaints, concerns and service delivery issues.
- Manage day-to-day enquiries via telephone and email relating to maintenance of green spaces.
- Support the Green Spaces Manager in delivering grounds maintenance across council-owned or managed land including parks, cemeteries, commons and recreation grounds.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners including Surrey County Council, Surrey Police and the Environment Agency to ensure green spaces remain safe and welcoming.
- Support implementation of the Green Spaces service delivery plan and strategic objectives.
- Provide advice and guidance on green space matters to residents, members, stakeholders and partner organisations.
