Salary: £36,000 - £48,702.50 (London) £41,400 - £43,355 (Birmingham)

Location: Birmingham or London (in office 3 days per week)

Are you a GIS professional who enjoys turning complex geospatial data into clear insights that influence real-world decisions? Would you like to work on one of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes, with access to enterprise-level GIS tools and genuinely varied datasets?

This is an excellent opportunity to join the GIS function supporting a nationally significant rail infrastructure programme, working within a specialist team focused on land, property and environmental data across a complex, live project environment.

You will work with a broad range of geospatial datasets, identifying trends, assuring data quality and producing meaningful outputs for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be part of a collaborative and growing GIS team, contributing to business-as-usual analysis while also responding to ad-hoc and time-critical requests, often working closely with contractors and internal delivery teams.

Essential experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a GIS or geospatial role
  • Strong experience with Esri GIS software, particularly ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Practical experience using Python and/or FME for data manipulation, automation or QA
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets
  • Experience presenting GIS outputs to stakeholders or decision-makers
Desirable experience:
  • Use of Esri extensions such as Spatial Analyst and Network Analyst
  • Experience building web applications or dashboards using Portal for ArcGIS
  • Integration of GIS outputs into Power BI or ArcGIS Dashboards
  • Background in transport, infrastructure or the public sector
