Carrington West is working with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham to find an Electrical Engineer / Project Lead to join their Capital Delivery Team, supporting small-value housing works with a strong focus on life-safety systems.
The Role
You will be sitting within the Capital Delivery Team, delivering a mixed portfolio that is approximately 80% technical / 20% project management, covering:
- Electrical Engineering across housing stock
- Electrical design, compliance and assurance
- Delivery of small-value capital projects
- Life-safety systems including:
- Fire alarms
- Smoke alarms
- Emergency lighting
This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to contribute from day one, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and residents.
Key Requirements
- Public sector experience is essential (local authority, housing association, NHS, etc.)
- Proven experience delivering housing works / small-value projects
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Fire alarm systems
- Emergency lighting
- Electrical safety and compliance
Qualifications & Certifications
- City & Guilds (relevant electrical discipline)
- HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- IEEE or equivalent professional body membership
- Strong working knowledge of current electrical regulations and compliance standards
Details:
- £50 per hour
- Inside IR35 - Umbrella
- 3 month rolling contract
- 35 hours p/w
- Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office, 2 days per week remote
