As an Electrical (Project) Engineer, you'll play a central role in driving innovation and reliability across process systems, instrumentation, and system integration.

Who you'll be joining:

You’ll become part of a trusted engineering contractor delivering design, build, and maintenance solutions for major water frameworks. With decades of success partnering with Thames Water and Southern Water, the company has built a reputation for technical excellence and long-term client relationships. You’ll be supported by experienced engineers and project managers while being empowered to take ownership of your own design work and client discussions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading and contributing to the design and development of electrical and control systems, including instrumentation and process automation.
  • Taking projects from tender through to handover, including detailed design, build, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
  • Producing technical documentation, design reports, and work packages for installers, panel manufacturers, and system integrators.
  • Managing and reviewing subcontractor design packages to ensure quality, budget, and programme compliance.
  • Engaging directly with clients to understand requirements, present solutions, and communicate complex technical information clearly.
  • Supporting project delivery through site visits, design reviews, and technical guidance.
  • Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards, client specifications, and health and safety requirements.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience in electrical design within the water or wastewater sector (or similar process engineering environment).
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, and system integration.
  • Ability to manage your own workload and deliver designs independently or as part of a wider team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to lead client discussions and present design concepts clearly.
  • Experience managing subcontractor design packages and reviewing technical deliverables.
  • Ambition to progress into a lead or project management role over time.
  • Relevant electrical or control systems engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree).
