We are recruiting on behalf of our client in London for an experienced AutoCAD Technician to join their design team on an adhoc contract basis. This role will support the delivery of a range of TfL highways design projects, developing 3D civil designs from 2D information and ensuring high-quality construction documentation. You will work predominantly remotely, with occasional office attendance (at least one day per project), providing technical support, advice, and coordination across multi-discipline design tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce Civil 3D CAD designs based on 2D design drawings.
- Develop associated civil 3D design plans including contour plans, cut & fill plans, setting out information, cross sections, and other deliverables.
- Support feasibility studies, preliminary design, and detailed design activities.
- Coordinate with the design team to ensure timely delivery of project outputs.
- Provide technical advice and support to team members as required.
About You - Essential Requirements
- Strong experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and related design software.
- Previous highways design experience and strong civil 3D CAD skills.
- Proficiency with MicroDrainage and Navisworks.
- Good IT skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to undertake design tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to interact with team members.
- Professional experience working as a CAD Technician within an engineering consultancy environment.
You must have Highways experience to be considered for this position.
