We are currently seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to join a prestigious consultancy's Data Centres team, based in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a passion for client-facing roles and business development within the critical systems sector.
In this role, you will not be responsible for full project delivery, as this will be managed by the national delivery team. Instead, you will focus on driving client relationships, supporting business growth, and engaging in strategic business development activities within the data centre sector, as well as other critical infrastructure sectors like aviation and science.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and develop client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for key accounts.
- Take ownership of business development efforts, ensuring the growth and expansion of opportunities within the data centre sector and other mission‑critical industries.
- Collaborate closely with the national delivery team to ensure alignment of business goals and project delivery.
- Develop and implement client engagement strategies, strengthening existing relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
- Promote the business' services within the data centre and critical systems sectors.
- Support the strategic direction and development of the data centres team.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a client‑facing role within the critical systems sector (data centres, aviation, science, or mission‑critical industries).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application in the critical systems sector.
- Experience in business development and client relationship management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients and develop new business.
- Experience with data centre projects or other mission‑critical sectors is highly advantageous.
- A strategic and proactive approach to business growth.
