You will be stepping into a senior, influential Senior Planner position on a long-term highways framework delivering visible, city‑wide improvements. A framework you will be proud to support: You will be working with my client, a leading contractor appointed to Liverpool City Council's Highways Planned Works Framework. The framework runs for four years and is designed to accelerate delivery across resurfacing, active travel, bridge and signal schemes. With a strong regional presence and a secure pipeline of work, my client is known for investing in people and delivering complex highways schemes efficiently and safely.
What you will be doing day to day: As a Senior Planner, you will be a key part of the delivery team, working closely with site and commercial functions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, managing and maintaining detailed construction programmes for multiple highways schemes
- Working closely with site teams to understand methodology, sequencing and constraints
- Spending time on site, ensuring programmes reflect live construction activity
- Producing progress updates, lookahead programmes and programme change analysis
- Identifying programme risks and supporting mitigation strategies
- Contributing to pre‑construction and tender planning where required
What you'll need to bring:
- Proven experience as a Senior Planner or Planner within highways or civil engineering
- Strong site‑based experience on live construction projects
- Experience using Primavera P6 or similar planning software
- Knowledge of highways works such as resurfacing, structures, active travel and traffic management
- Confidence communicating with site teams, clients and stakeholders
