What you'll be doing day to day as General Foreman
- Reporting to the Site Manager or Project Manager, as General Foreman you will lead and coordinate site activities to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality.
- Supervising and coordinating direct labour, subcontractors, and plant on site.
- Planning daily and weekly activities to maintain productivity and programme.
- Leading by example on health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
- Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Managing permits, briefings, and site inductions where required.
- Monitoring quality and carrying out inspections to ensure standards are met.
- Identifying and resolving site issues quickly, escalating where necessary.
- Liaising closely with Engineers, Site Managers, and Project Managers to coordinate delivery.
- Supporting the development and performance of site operatives and supervisors.
- Maintaining accurate site records, diaries, and progress updates.
What you'll need to bring
- Proven experience in a General Foreman or Senior Supervisor role within highways or civil engineering.
- Strong understanding of highways construction methods and site operations.
- A consistent, hands-on approach to health, safety, and environmental management.
