This organisation is currently looking for four MEICA Project Engineers with a strong electrical engineering background to support the successful delivery of projects across the water and wastewater sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering team delivering critical infrastructure projects involving electrical installations, power distribution, control systems, process equipment and associated civil works.
You will provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating engineering activities, supporting design development, managing documentation, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications. Working closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, you will play a key role in driving projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage electrical engineering activities across multiple projects.
- Review and produce technical documentation, drawings, specifications and commissioning plans.
- Support the design and development of electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation and power distribution networks.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Assist with procurement activities, technical evaluations and equipment selection.
- Support installation, testing and commissioning activities on site.
- Monitor project progress, identify technical risks and implement solutions where required.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with relevant industry standards, client specifications and health & safety requirements.
- Support project handover activities, including completion of as-built documentation and O&M manuals.
We are seeking an engineer with a strong electrical background who is passionate about delivering high-quality infrastructure projects within the water and utilities sector. You should be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment and have the ability to coordinate technical activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and programme delivery.
Experience & Knowledge- Minimum 2 years' experience working within the water, utilities, power, industrial or process engineering sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering systems, including LV power distribution, motor control centres (MCCs), control systems and instrumentation.
- Experience supporting electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with WIMES standards and client specifications is desirable.
- Understanding of construction, commissioning and project handover processes.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills.
- Understanding of project planning, risk management and change control processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience delivering engineering projects within water, utilities, industrial or heavy engineering environments.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and engineering document management systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
