My client is a respected independent construction materials testing company serving the civil engineering, construction, and quarrying sectors. They specialise in asphalt, aggregates, earthworks, and concrete testing, supporting projects from production through to on-site verification and laboratory analysis within their UKAS-accredited facilities. With continued growth across the UK, they are looking to add another dedicated Materials Site Technician to their professional and supportive team.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Materials Site Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring construction materials meet required specifications and safety standards across a variety of projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out on-site testing of materials including concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates
- Recording and documenting test results accurately
- Monitoring the quality and condition of materials delivered to site
- Preparing reports and communicating findings with engineers and project teams
- Supporting site teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Travelling to different project locations across the region, with occasional overnight stays
- Maintaining high health and safety standards at all times
- Working outdoors in a variety of environments and weather conditions
What My Client Is Looking For
To be successful in this Materials Site Technician role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience within construction, materials testing, engineering, or a similar field-based environment (preferred but not essential)
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Flexibility to travel regularly to sites
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous
Salary & Benefits
- Salary of circa £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- Daily overtime available
- Weekend overtime paid at 1.5x basic rate
- Night shift allowance of +£2.50 per hour
