Are you a Rail Estimator with strong first principles estimating experience looking for a new challenge? Do you want to join a growing consultancy delivering rail and infrastructure projects for major clients and contractors?
My client is growing their rail estimating team and is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to support the delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a consultancy with a strong pipeline of secured work and a growing reputation within the rail sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing detailed cost estimates for a variety of rail and infrastructure schemes, working closely with contractors, consultants and public sector clients.
The business is particularly interested in candidates with a construction-led estimating background who can build estimates from first principles, rather than purely cost-planning or quantity surveying experience. Candidates based near Leeds would ideally attend the office 2–3 days per week. Those based in the Midlands or London can work predominantly remotely with occasional travel as required.
Essential Requirements:- Previous experience working as an Estimator or Senior Estimator
- Strong first principles estimating capability
- Rail infrastructure project experience
- Understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery
- Experience producing detailed estimates across civil engineering or infrastructure schemes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working on Network Rail projects
- Background working for contractors or construction-led consultancies
- Experience mentoring or managing junior estimators
- Wider infrastructure or heavy civil engineering experience
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy with long-term secured workload, flexible working arrangements, and genuine progression opportunities within an expanding estimating function.
