This is an opportunity to join a nationally significant infrastructure programme delivering the Network Integrated Control Centre (NICC), a highly complex operational facility comparable to a modern data centre environment. As Lead Project Engineer, you will lead the engineering coordination and systems integration activities across the facility, overseeing complex building services, technical infrastructure, and contractor interfaces throughout the full project lifecycle.
The role will focus heavily on integration between operational systems, building infrastructure, power resilience, cooling systems, environmental controls, and specialist contractor packages within a safety‑critical environment. You will work closely with engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery from design through to commissioning and operational handover.
Essential experience- Experience delivering complex operational or technical facilities
- Strong systems integration or engineering coordination experience
- Control centre, data centre, or comparable experience managing building services or MEPH systems within complex environments
- Experience across full project lifecycle delivery including design, construction, commissioning, and handover
- Strong stakeholder management and technical interface coordination skills
- Experience managing technical delivery across multiple contractors or packages
- Data centre project experience
- Experience within airports, nuclear, control centres, or critical infrastructure environments
- Rail infrastructure experience
- Experience operating in highly regulated or safety‑critical industries
- Chartered status or working towards chartership
