The Role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services on large, complex construction projects. You will take ownership from concept through to construction, ensuring designs are practical, compliant, and cost-effective.

Location: Liverpool (1x a week in the office)

Rate: Up to 55 per hour (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design for major construction projects
  • Produce high-quality designs, specifications, and technical solutions
  • Work closely with clients, architects, and project teams
  • Coordinate designs across disciplines
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and quality procedures
  • Support cost planning, estimates, and pre-construction activities

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • CIBSE / IMechE member (or working towards Chartership)
  • Strong experience in building services design (HVAC / MEP)
  • Experience delivering large or complex projects
  • Knowledge of BIM, Revit, and design coordination
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
