Wyre Forest Council is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Estates Surveyor to support the management of its diverse property portfolio. Working within the Property Services team, you will undertake a broad range of estate management duties across the Council's operational, investment and non-operational assets. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estates Surveyor with strong commercial property experience to join a busy local authority team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied portfolio of operational, investment and non-operational property assets.
- Undertake estate management activities including landlord and tenant matters, lease renewals, rent reviews and licence agreements.
- Manage the letting of vacant floorspace and commercial property across the Council's estate.
- Support property acquisitions, disposals and development projects.
- Carry out property valuations using market, income and cost approaches.
- Work closely with external managing agents, valuation consultants and letting agents.
- Support the delivery of the Council's Strategic Asset Management Plan.
- Assist in the management of over 250 Council-owned assets including land, buildings, plant and equipment.
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Estate Management, Property Management or a related discipline.
- MRICS qualified or working towards Chartered status.
- A minimum of two years' post-qualification experience within commercial property.
- Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle for business use.
- Minimum 2 year's Local Authority experience working within estate management experience including lease negotiations, rent reviews and landlord and tenant matters.
- Experience of property acquisitions and disposals.
- Experience using digital property mapping software.
