An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a rapidly growing utilities and infrastructure team delivering major projects across the South East. With a significant increase in secured work and a strong long-term pipeline across key water frameworks, the business is looking to strengthen its commercial team with a high-calibre Senior QS who can play a leading role in project delivery and commercial performance. This role will suit a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building strong relationships with operational teams, and driving successful outcomes from tender handover through to final account.
The Role
You will be responsible for overseeing the full commercial lifecycle of projects across utilities and infrastructure schemes, working closely with Project Managers and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with contractual requirements. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing NEC contracts across live projects
- Handling subcontract management and commercial administration
- Managing payments, valuations, variations, and change control
- Supporting operational teams with commercial and contractual matters
- Managing orders, forecasting, reporting, and financial performance
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
- Building strong working relationships across project delivery teams
What They’re Looking For
- Proven Senior Quantity Surveying experience within utilities, infrastructure, or engineering environments
- Strong NEC3 contract knowledge is essential
- Utilities or energy sector experience is highly preferred
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to work closely with operational teams and develop strong internal relationships
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to commercial management
Location & Working Arrangements
- Candidates should ideally be based within Surrey or Kent due to project and site locations
- Hybrid working available, although candidates should expect regular site presence, typically around 3 days per week
- The team operates from the Snodland office alongside site-based project delivery
Salary & Package
- £70,000 - £80,000+ depending on experience
