An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing utilities and infrastructure team delivering major projects across the South East. With a substantial increase in secured work and continued growth across key water frameworks, the business is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an ambitious QS who is looking to develop within a fast-paced and supportive project environment.
The business delivered approximately £22m worth of work with South East Water last year and is targeting around £45m this year, highlighting the scale of growth and long-term pipeline of projects ahead. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and operational teams on complex utility and infrastructure schemes.
This position would suit a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor who enjoys being involved in both the operational and financial side of projects, while developing their experience across NEC contracts and major utilities frameworks.
The RoleYou will support the commercial delivery of projects from tender handover through to final account, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and commercially successfully. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the management of NEC contracts across live projects
- Supporting subcontract management and procurement processes
- Managing orders, payments, valuations, and commercial reporting
- Assisting with forecasting, cost tracking, and change control
- Supporting operational teams with day-to-day commercial activities
- Helping identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Building strong working relationships with Project Managers and site teams
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or energy sectors
- Strong NEC contract knowledge or exposure is preferred
- Experience or understanding of:
- NEC3 Option C contracts
- NEC4 contracts
- Subcontract management and commercial administration
- Candidates from utilities or energy backgrounds are highly preferred
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to work closely with operational teams in a collaborative environment
- Candidates should ideally be based within Surrey or Kent due to site locations across the South East Water framework
- Hybrid working available, although candidates should expect regular site attendance, typically around 3 days per week
- The team operates from the Snodland office alongside project and site-based work
- £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience
- Flexibility available for the right individual
