You will be an Intermediate Fire Engineer looking for a new permanent role. This is a strong opportunity for an engineer with consultancy experience who wants exposure to a varied project portfolio, greater technical responsibility, and clear support toward professional development and Chartership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop fire engineering strategies in line with BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 7974, Approved Document B, and other relevant fire protection standards.
  • Design and assess active fire protection systems, including sprinkler, water mist, and gaseous suppression systems.
  • Carry out fire risk assessments and provide technical fire safety advice to clients.
  • Assist with CFD modelling and fire simulations where required.
  • Produce fire systems designs in BIM software such as Revit for coordination with other disciplines.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and regulatory authorities to support compliance with UK fire safety regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports, fire safety statements, and evacuation strategies.
  • Support senior engineers with project delivery and provide guidance to junior team members.

You will have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 2-5 years of experience in fire engineering consultancy or a closely related role.
  • Strong working knowledge of BS 9999, BS 7974, Approved Document B, and other relevant fire standards.
  • Knowledge of fire suppression systems, including sprinklers, water mist, and gaseous systems.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Revit, AutoSprink, PyroSim, FDS, or CFAST would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
