Are you an experienced surveyor specialising in identifying and resolving damp and mould issues within residential housing?
Hammersmith & Fulham Council is seeking an Interim Damp & Mould Surveyor to support its efforts in maintaining safe and healthy living conditions across its housing stock.
Role Overview
As the designated Damp & Mould Surveyor, you will:
Conduct thorough inspections focused exclusively on damp, mould, and condensation issues (pre, mid and post works).
Diagnose underlying causes and specify appropriate remedial actions.
Liaise effectively with residents, contractors and internal teams to coordinate and conclude works successfully.
Monitor contractor performance to ensure quality standards and timely delivery.
Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure legal compliance and support ongoing monitoring.
The role covers a housing stock of approximately 17,000 homes, with a primary focus on damp and mould remediation rather than general repairs.
Required Experience and Qualifications
At least 3 years\β experience surveying damp and mould issues, ideally within a local authority or housing association environment.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, best practice standards, and practical treatment methods for damp, mould and condensation.
Capability to manage a case load effectively and communicate professionally and sensitively with residents.
Degree in building surveying or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in inspections, defect diagnosis, specifying repairs, and overseeing responsive maintenance.
