We're supporting a Local Authority that's on the lookout for an experienced Adaptations Surveyor to join their Private Sector Housing team.

This is a front-line role, supporting disabled residents with housing adaptations and repairs - you'll be delivering a customer-focused, fast-paced service that genuinely makes a difference.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out inspections on private sector properties (owner-occupied or tenanted), identifying necessary adaptations or repairs.
  • Working closely with Occupational Therapists, contractors, and residents to scope out solutions that are practical, safe, and meet legislation.
  • Providing a full architectural and agency-style service - drawings, specs, tendering, contract admin, and overseeing works.
  • Acting as a "Trusted Assessor" when required - training can be provided if needed.
  • Managing your own caseload - from initial enquiry through to sign-off, including resolving disputes where needed.
  • Advising on Housing and Public Health legislation, and supporting the delivery of DFGs and discretionary grants.

To be successful, you must:

  • Be a UK Resident
  • Have minimum 3 year's experience within public sector delivering housing adaptations and supervising site works.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Building Regs (especially access standards), construction methods, and grant funding processes.
  • The ability to write clear, detailed specs and produce technical drawings (CAD skills preferred).
