We are currently looking for an experienced Income Officer to join a busy Housing Management service.

The role will focus on maximising rent collection, preventing the accumulation of arrears and supporting residents to sustain their tenancies through early intervention and effective income recovery.

The successful candidate will manage rent accounts, negotiate repayment arrangements and progress arrears cases through the appropriate recovery and legal processes.

This Income Officer position would suit someone with previous social housing income recovery experience and a strong understanding of rent arrears and welfare benefits.

The Role Managing rent accounts and taking prompt action to prevent and recover rent arrears.

Negotiating affordable repayment arrangements with tenants.

Monitoring rent, parking and use and occupation accounts.

Providing advice on housing and welfare benefits to maximise tenant income and entitlement.

Supporting vulnerable tenants and making referrals to relevant support services.

Preparing arrears cases for legal action, including court papers and possession proceedings.

Attending court and representing the organisation in rent arrears and possession cases.

Conducting tenant interviews and home visits relating to rent payments and arrears.

Providing advice to new tenants on rent payments, benefits and debt management.
