Are you an Estimator or Senior Estimator with real earthworks experience wanting to join a busy pre-construction team on a strong pipeline of highways projects?
You will be managing the tendering of projects - maximising tendered margin while identifying value engineering opportunities and successfully winning work.
What you'll do:
- Actively tender projects received by the business
- Understand contractual terms and identify potential risks to the business
- Review all information received to understand the scope of works to be tendered
- Submit tenders on time and to the client's requirements
- Accurately measure relevant works to derive and validate quantities for pricing
- Build up tender rates from first principles on a labour, plant and material basis
- Identify value engineering opportunities to offer clients
- Obtain market rates for subcontracted works
- Respond to client queries in a timely manner
- Understand programme and buildability constraints within a tender
- Lead the handover of secured work, passing information to the delivery team
- Maintain client relationships and seek opportunities for new and continued work
- Provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team
