Contract: Initial 6-month contract
Working Pattern: 3 days office / 2 days home
PAYE: £23.51 per hour
Limited/Umbrella: £30.67 per hour
We are currently seeking an experienced Housing Advisor to join a South London Local Authority on an initial 6-month contract.
Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities include managing a complex caseload, completing housing needs assessments and Personalised Housing Plans, investigating homelessness applications and recommending appropriate decisions.
- You will work proactively with customers to explore all available housing options and prevent homelessness through advice, advocacy, landlord negotiation, mediation and access to alternative accommodation.
- You will also assess temporary accommodation requirements, provide private rented sector and welfare benefit advice, support customers affected by welfare reform and maintain accurate casework records.
- The successful candidate will have previous Housing Options/Homelessness experience within a Local Authority and a strong working knowledge of homelessness legislation and housing options.
