An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Client Project Manager with experience in transportation, infrastructure and project delivery to join a busy Transport & Infrastructure team within a Local Authority environment. This role is primarily responsible for managing transportation and engineering projects through the design and implementation stages, ensuring schemes are delivered on time, within budget and in line with current design, safety and environmental standards. The successful candidate will manage multiple stakeholders while supporting the successful delivery of strategic infrastructure programmes and Government objectives.
Responsibilities
- Managing transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the design and delivery stages
- Ensuring project timescales, budgets and specifications are effectively managed and achieved
- Providing updates and progress briefings to team leaders, senior managers and key stakeholders
- Consulting with Councillors, stakeholders and members of the public regarding transportation schemes and proposed developments
- Preparing reports, project appraisals and presentations for Executive Members and senior leadership teams
- Monitoring project resources, programme delivery and financial performance information
- Evaluating engineering and infrastructure projects to ensure objectives are achieved in accordance with current design, safety, environmental and political standards
- Prioritising assigned projects and coordinating project teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes
- Supporting the achievement of County Council and Government targets and objectives
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, departmental procedures and national standards
Qualifications
Previous experience within Highways, Transportation, Infrastructure or Project Management is essential for this role. Experience within a Local Authority or public sector environment would also be beneficial.
