Are you a Handback Engineer with Rail Telecoms experience? Have you previously worked for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 rail contractor on telecoms projects?
Location: Surrey (5 days a week, no work from home)
Rate: Β£250 to Β£300 per day dependent on experience OUTSIDE IR35
Contract Length: 6 months rolling
Responsibilities:
- Support a subcontractor on major rail infrastructure projects as a hands-on telecoms engineer focused on ensuring systems are fully tested, compliant, and ready for operational use before formal handback to the client.
- Collate and maintain Installation Test Packs (ITPs) and redline drawings to reflect changes and as-built conditions, ensuring the client receives a complete and accurate handback package.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure handback readiness and compliance.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Handback, Commissioning, or Handover Engineer within rail telecoms projects for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
- Strong understanding of rail telecoms systems (e.g., GSM-R, fibre optic networks, SCADA, station comms, CCTV, PA/CIS).
- Experience with handover and commissioning processes, including documentation and compliance management.
- Competent in reviewing and producing test results, as-built documentation, and handback certificates.
Desirable:
- Degree in Electrical, Telecoms, or Systems Engineering.
