We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Agent to oversee the successful delivery of major highways and infrastructure schemes across the UK. The ideal candidate will come from a Highways England (National Highways) or large-scale civil engineering background and be confident managing complex, fast-paced projects from start to finish. This role requires someone willing to lodge away during the week, with all accommodation and travel expenses covered.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of day-to-day site management on major highways schemes.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Lead and motivate site teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
- Manage and review RAMS, ITPs, site diaries, progress reports, and programme updates.
- Liaise closely with clients, project managers, engineers, and local authorities.
- Drive Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance to the highest standard.
- Coordinate resources, materials, and logistics efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Support project planning, forecasting, and risk management activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in Highways or Major Infrastructure projects.
- Excellent working knowledge of Highways England (DMRB) specifications and HSE legislation.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and priorities.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, site documentation, and project reporting tools.
- Relevant qualifications including:
- CSCS (Black or Gold Card)
- SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- (NRSWA or Temporary Works Coordinator desirable)
