A major regional organisation is seeking an experienced Communications and Engagement Lead to support high-profile transport, infrastructure and strategic growth programmes across the Bristol region.
You'll lead communications, stakeholder engagement and public consultation activity on complex programmes shaping future transport, housing, infrastructure, place-making and economic growth.
This is a high-impact role requiring strong political awareness and the ability to turn complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead communications, engagement and consultation across major transport and infrastructure programmes.
- Develop compelling narratives around growth, sustainable transport, infrastructure and place-making.
- Plan and deliver public consultations, from strategy and promotion through to analysis and dissemination.
- Build relationships with senior local, regional and national stakeholders.
- Ensure engagement reaches diverse communities and hard-to-reach groups.
- Advise senior leaders on communications risks, opportunities and reputation management.
- Manage external communications, engagement and consultation consultants.
- Maintain consistent messaging across complex, multi-stakeholder programmes.
- Support programme branding, communications strategy and stakeholder briefings.
Requirements
- Strong experience delivering communications and stakeholder engagement for complex transport or infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience developing communications and engagement strategies.
- Experience leading public consultation and community engagement.
- Strong stakeholder management skills within complex or politically sensitive environments.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear, accessible messaging.
- Excellent influencing, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Strong political awareness, judgement and diplomacy.
- Public sector, major projects, strategic growth, transport or place-making experience would be highly beneficial.
