Site Supervisor - Civil Engineering & Infrastructure
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Supervisor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects across Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supervisor who enjoys leading site teams, coordinating day-to-day operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Working as part of a supportive delivery team, you’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of a variety of highways and civil engineering schemes.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations, coordinating labour and subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely and maintaining programme targets.
You will be the key point of contact on site, ensuring quality standards are maintained while promoting a positive health and safety culture.
Projects include a varied mix of highways, infrastructure, drainage, structures and general civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day site operations across multiple civil engineering projects.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant and materials.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
- Carry out site briefings, toolbox talks and promote a strong health and safety culture.
- Monitor progress and report updates to the Project Manager.
- Ensure quality standards are achieved and any issues are resolved promptly.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders and the wider project team.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries and relevant documentation.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience supervising civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- A strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site management.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and direct labour.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple work activities while maintaining quality and programme.
- SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred).
- CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience working on highways, infrastructure, local authority or wider civil engineering projects would be highly advantageous.
