An opportunity has arisen to join a growing team of geotechnical and environmental engineers based in Northamptonshire. My client is looking for a geo-environmental engineer with previous UK based experience.
Salary: Competitive (subject to qualifications and experience)
Full time position
Main role and duties:
- Assisting and managing ground investigation work across the UK as directed by the Senior Engineers.
- Working as a geo-environmental / geotechnical professional with previous experience.
- Working both outside and office based throughout the year.
- Applicants will be expected to work on site in varying locations around the UK.
- Soil and rock logging to current geotechnical standards, including laboratory scheduling.
- Participating in a variety of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects for both external clients and for other teams.
- Writing all types of factual and interpretative Reports (Desk study, ground investigation, earthworks, remediation strategies, CMRAs).
- Site supervision of ground investigations, earthworks and construction activities.
- Collating geological/geotechnical data and report writing.
- Managing site activities and subcontractors, writing RAMS and liaising with clients.
Experience, qualifications and attributes:
- Minimum BSc in geology, geography or environmental science related degree.
- Previous industry experience as a Geo-environmental/geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist / site engineer.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Use of holebase desirable.
- Must hold a full clean driving licence.
- Must be prepared to travel UK wide and stay away from home on occasion.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have good written English skills.
- Enjoy working outside as well as in an office environment.
