A permanent position with a competitive salary (DOE) and excellent benefits package. Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy delivering services across residential, commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, education and healthcare sectors. They are seeking an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their growing team in Birmingham.

In this role, you will work on a variety of residential, commercial and public sector projects, delivering high-quality geo-environmental solutions from investigation through to reporting and approvals. You will be producing technically accurate reports and calculations, managing projects to agreed timescales and budgets, and working closely with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams. The role also includes site visits, supporting business development and contributing to the continual improvement of technical standards and processes. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys a varied workload, values collaboration and takes pride in delivering practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Associate Director in achieving productivity and growth objectives.
  • Attend meetings with clients, development teams and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain high levels of client service and help secure repeat business.
  • Produce accurate calculations, reports and correspondence within agreed budgets and deadlines.
  • Follow company quality procedures, including two-stage checking processes.
  • Support technical innovation, research and development activities.
  • Maintain and improve departmental standards and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and maintain a valid CSCS card.
  • Travel across the UK when required to supervise site works and attend meetings.
Project Management Responsibilities
  • Manage projects across a range of sectors and, where required, multiple disciplines.
  • Oversee project administration, quality, fee proposals, budgeting and resource planning.
  • Maintain regular client communication and agree timescales and fees.
  • Manage invoicing, WIP and project finances to ensure budgets are achieved.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Geo-Environmental Engineering, Geology or a related discipline.
  • Experience in site investigations, risk assessments and technical reporting.
  • Membership of, or working towards membership with, The Geological Society, CIWEM or similar.
  • Knowledge of ground investigation techniques, geotechnical properties and contamination assessment.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, NHBC Standards and NPPF guidance.
  • Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
