Ready to lead on a major infrastructure project and make a real impact on safety, quality, and delivery? As an experienced Section Engineer who drives production excellence, mentors engineering teams, and helps deliver complex civil engineering works safely and efficiently, this is the opportunity for you.
In this role, you will oversee day‑to‑day engineering and production activities while ensuring high standards across health & safety, programme management, quality assurance, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Producing and managing short‑term lookahead programmes
- Monitoring site progress and reporting programme variances
- Reviewing permanent and temporary works designs
- Supporting and coaching Site Engineers and Apprentices
- Managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality records
- Conducting site safety tours and promoting a positive safety culture
- Supporting environmental and carbon reduction commitments
- Coordinating resources, procurement, and construction records
- Assisting with handover documentation including redlines and O&M inputs
- Proven experience on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Knowledge of construction regulations, standards, and best practices
- The ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Engineering or Construction Management qualification (preferred)
- CSCS card (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
- Fit for work medical
- Ability to pass pre‑employment drug & alcohol screening and security clearance checks
