Are you an experienced Head of Service looking for your next challenge? Our client is an ambitious authority who are seeking an experienced Head of Service with Waste, Environment and Green Spaces experience. This role is on a contract basis, initially for 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the Domestic & Commercial Waste Collection Services and Clean & Green Services, including burials, street cleansing, arboriculture, parks and open spaces and general grounds maintenance, within budgets and ensuring that agreed standards of output are achieved and compliance with corporate priorities, legal requirements and commercial aspirations.
- Take responsibility for the procurement and management of external contractors related to all aspects of waste management and Clean & Green ensuring that the Council discharges its legal duties as a Waste Disposal Authority.
- Manage the Household Waste and Recycling Centre in line with Environmental Permitting Regulations and the site working plan, including the commercial income and re-use facilities.
What is required?
- As the successful candidate, you will have senior management experience within a local authority, particularly in Waste and Environment.
- You will have great stakeholder management skills.
