We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Options Triage Officer to join a busy Housing Team within a Local Authority on a temporary basis. This role will play a key part in delivering proactive housing advice and homelessness prevention support to residents, ensuring services are delivered in line with current legislation and housing guidance. You will initially be required to work full time in the office during training, with hybrid working available thereafter (3 days per week in the office).
What You Will Do as a Housing Options Triage Officer:
- Act as the first point of contact for all new housing enquiries into the service
- Conduct initial assessments to identify homelessness risks and housing needs
- Provide early intervention and prevention advice to households at risk of homelessness
- Manage triage casework and coordinate responses to housing-related queries via phone and email
- Deliver verbal and written advice on a wide range of housing matters, including homelessness, tenancy issues, domestic abuse, and housing options
- Support residents in accessing services that help them secure or sustain accommodation
