What will you do?

  • Undertake fire risk assessments for complex and non-complex residential buildings, including High-Risk Buildings (HRBs).
  • Provide competent fire safety advice to senior managers, housing teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, external agencies, and support providers to ensure fire risks are effectively assessed and managed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in fire safety management across the Council's residential portfolio.
  • Support the Council in meeting its statutory obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

What do you need?

  • UK Resident
  • Minimum 5 years' experience conducting fire risk assessments in the social housing sector, including complex buildings.
  • Level 5 or higher qualification in fire safety or fire safety engineering from a recognised fire sector professional body.
  • Graduate-level (or higher) membership of a recognised fire or construction professional body.
  • Strong understanding of building construction methods and fire safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to attend site visits as required.
