Cambridge City Council is looking for an experienced Electrical Surveyor to join its Asset Management team on an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing electrical compliance, inspection programmes, planned works and improvement projects across the Council's housing and corporate property portfolio.
The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring statutory electrical compliance across a diverse property portfolio while supporting the delivery of electrical improvement and maintenance programmes. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing electrical compliance across Council-owned properties.
- Overseeing inspection, testing and certification programmes, including EICRs, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
- Maintaining accurate compliance records and electrical asset information.
- Identifying defects, risks and non-compliance issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Developing and delivering planned electrical improvement and replacement programmes.
- Producing technical specifications and supporting project delivery from feasibility through to completion.
- Managing contractors and monitoring quality, safety and performance.
- Carrying out site inspections.
