Are you an experienced Commercial Manager with a strong background in major infrastructure projects? Do you have hands-on commercial experience working under NEC Option C or Option E contracts? If you are looking for a commercially responsible position on a major overhead lines framework, this could be an excellent opportunity to take ownership of significant project packages while working within an established infrastructure environment.
My client is seeking a Commercial Manager to support the delivery of major Overhead Lines projects across the SPEN Framework, mainly refurbishment works. You will play a key role in protecting the commercial position of the business, managing contractual risk and ensuring projects are delivered with strong commercial control.
What you will be doing
- Managing the commercial performance of major Overhead Lines projects across the SPEN Framework.
- Working closely with project and operational teams to ensure strong cost and contractual control.
- Overseeing applications, valuations, variations, compensation events and final accounts.
- Monitoring project costs, forecasts, budgets and commercial performance.
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
- Supporting negotiations with clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Providing accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
- Ensuring contractual notices and obligations are managed correctly and within required time scales.
- Supporting and developing members of the wider commercial team where required.
What you will need
- Previous experience working as a Commercial Manager or in a senior commercial position on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience working with NEC contracts, specifically Option C or Option E.
- Experience managing commercially complex projects or significant project packages.
- A strong understanding of cost management, forecasting, change control and contractual risk.
- Experience working collaboratively with project delivery teams and clients.
- Previous experience within Overhead Lines, electricity transmission, utilities or another major infrastructure environment would be highly beneficial.
Salary and package
You will receive a salary of up to £95,000 dependent on experience, alongside a company car or car allowance. You will also have the opportunity to work on a significant long-term framework delivering major infrastructure projects, with scope to develop your commercial career as the programme progresses.
Location
This role is not site-based and does not require national travel. You will primarily be based from the office just outside Edinburgh, although there is flexibility to work from home on a hybrid basis. The exact working pattern can be discussed and agreed with your line manager during the offer process, allowing for a degree of flexibility around your individual circumstances and the requirements of the role.
