Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the Southeast in their search for a very experienced Town Planner to assist the Planning Policy Department.

Person specification:

  • Experience in planning policy in local authority
  • Experience of site assessment as part of Land Availability Assessment (LAA)
  • Knowledge of the new plan-making system and draft National Planning Policy Framework
  • Experience in writing briefs and undertaking procurement within local authority setting
  • Preferable - knowledge of Sustainability Appraisal/ Strategic Environmental Assessment for Local Plans
  • Experience of working on evidence and baseline requirements supporting local plan preparation
  • Skills - ability to work independently with minimal supervision, good IT skills and understanding of GIS, good attention to detail and time management.

Working Arrangements:

The team typically attends the office weekly, but if you are interested, and require less office presence please reach out.
