About the Role
As a Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the technical delivery of earthworks design, modelling, and supervision for a range of highways projects. They will play a key role in ensuring the successful and safe execution of projects from inception to completion, working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and modelling of complex earthworks schemes for highways projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Undertake volumetric calculations and material management.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
- Oversee site activities, ensuring adherence to design, quality, and safety standards.
- Utilise and optimise the use of Leica survey equipment and software for data collection and analysis.
- Proficiently use N4ce software for terrain modelling, earthworks design, and calculations.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with earthworks operations.
- Contribute to bid preparation and project planning.
About the Candidate
- A minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience specifically in highways earthworks projects.
- Demonstrable expertise in the use of Leica survey equipment and associated software (e.g., Leica Infinity, Leica Geo Office).
- Proven proficiency in N4ce software for earthworks design and modelling is essential.
- Strong understanding of earthworks principles, geotechnics, and relevant design standards (e.g., DMRB).
- Experience in supervising earthworks operations on site.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A relevant degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
