My client is looking to appoint an ambitious and motivated Engineer to support the delivery of a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will be working alongside experienced operational and commercial teams while contributing to the successful delivery of complex civil engineering schemes.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supporting the delivery of civil engineering schemes valued between £50k and £5 million
  • Carrying out setting out and surveying duties across site activities
  • Producing accurate as-built surveys and technical drawings
  • Assisting with clash detection on construction drawings
  • Identifying underground and existing services confidently
  • Supporting project teams with programme management and milestone tracking
  • Planning and managing setting out activities ahead of follow-on trades
  • Maintaining accurate site records, observations and QA documentation
  • Completing work inspection sheets and ensuring quality standards are maintained
  • Carrying out regular instrument checks and calibration
  • Monitoring material deliveries and reconciling discrepancies
  • Supporting commercial activities including take-offs and material usage records
  • Assisting with weekly programme updates and reporting
  • Ensuring all works are completed safely and in accordance with RAMS and company procedures
  • Promoting health, safety and environmental best practice across site operations
  • Liaising professionally with clients, subcontractors and colleagues on site
  • Supporting innovation and identifying opportunities to improve project efficiency and programme delivery

Skills and Experience Required

  • HNC, HND or Degree qualification within Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • CSCS Card
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and basic CAD knowledge
  • Ability to competently set out and survey
  • Understanding of engineering principles and construction activities
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Professional and collaborative approach to working relationships
  • Full UK driving licence with minimal points preferred

The following would also be beneficial:

  • Experience working on highways, drainage or infrastructure schemes
  • Understanding of QA documentation and inspection processes
  • Knowledge of programme management and commercial reporting
  • Ability to identify defective works and implement corrective action
