My client is seeking proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineers to join a major multimillion-pound scheme in Didcot, Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to work on a complex project where quality, compliance and continuous improvement are at the heart of delivery.
As a Quality Engineer, you will be joining a well-established contractor with a strong reputation within the civil engineering sector. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on a major infrastructure project while developing your technical expertise and long-term career prospects. What you will be doing
- Implementing the QA/QC management system on site
- Coordinating quality inspections with subcontractors and vendors
- Managing and coordinating non-destructive testing activities
- Liaising with client representatives regarding all quality matters
- Distributing QA/QC documentation to subcontractors
- Ensuring site activities comply with applicable codes and standards
- Participating in internal and external quality audits
- Managing non-conformance reports and overseeing remedial actions
- Monitoring implementation of the approved site Quality Control Plan
- Coordinating technical submittals and approvals with the client
- Supporting the construction management team on all quality-related matters
- Chairing QA/QC meetings with subcontractor quality personnel
- Developing inspection and testing programmes
- Ensuring all site quality documentation is accurate and up to date
- Supporting the successful handover of as-built quality documentation to the client

- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a quality-focused role within civil engineering or construction
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant quality standards
- Experience carrying out internal and external audits
- Good understanding of construction methods, materials and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems/tools
It would also be beneficial if you have:
- Recognised Quality Management qualifications
- Membership of a relevant professional body
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
