6-Month Contract | Devon | £22.68 Per Hour (Umbrella) A local authority in Devon are seeking a proactive and compassionate Early Intervention and Sustainment Officer to join their Housing Needs and Homelessness Team on an initial six-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by identifying people and households at risk of homelessness at the earliest possible stage and helping them remain in safe, sustainable accommodation. Working with customers before a statutory homelessness prevention duty applies, you will provide timely, person-centred housing advice and practical interventions. Using data, intelligence and strong partnership working, you will identify emerging housing risks and develop creative solutions that support "upstream" homelessness prevention. You will work with households experiencing issues such as relationship breakdown, unaffordable housing, overcrowding, sofa surfing and insecure or informal accommodation. This may include exploring private rented and supported housing options, mediating between tenants, landlords and families, and resolving issues that could otherwise lead to tenancy breakdown. You will also support resettlement schemes, including Homes for Ukraine, helping to sustain host arrangements, facilitate re-matching where appropriate and identify alternative accommodation options. Working closely with Children's Services, Adult Social Care, Health, voluntary organisations and other partners, you will help coordinate effective early interventions.
