Our market leading client is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their organisation within the power and utilities sector on a long-term contract basis. This role will focus on producing designs up to 132kV across the DNO network, with a strong emphasis on primary substations and protection & control systems. This is a hybrid contract role (3 days in office, 2 from home). A standard D&A medical and site pass is required.
The Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical designs for HV infrastructure projects, supporting network upgrades and new connections across the DNO environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong 132kV design experience who is looking to work on technically challenging projects within a well-established team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce electrical designs up to 132kV within the DNO network
- Deliver design solutions for primary substations
- Focus on Protection & Control design while maintaining an understanding of wider electrical design disciplines
- Support project delivery from concept through to detailed design
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and client requirements
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience producing 132kV electrical designs
- Experience working on primary substations
- Strong Protection & Control design background
- Broad understanding of other areas of electrical design
Desirable
- Previous DNO experience
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
