A South East London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Special Projects Contract Manager to lead the procurement and management of high-risk, safety-critical contracts across its residential housing portfolio.

We are looking for someone with strong social housing experience who can demonstrate a track record of both procuring contracts end-to-end and subsequently managing contractors, performance and delivery.

The role will have a particular focus on fire safety, compliance and external wall systems (EWS), overseeing investigative programmes including FRAEWs, Fire Risk Assessments, spandrel panel investigations and fa??ade/render assessments.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-end procurement, including specifications, tendering, evaluation, award and mobilisation
  • Managing contractors against KPIs, specifications, budgets and programme milestones
  • Commercial management, cost control, forecasting and ensuring value for money
  • Overseeing fire safety and external wall investigative works across multiple buildings
  • Supporting legal teams with contractual evidence and claims relating to defective works
  • Supporting Cladding Safety Scheme and other funding applications
  • Managing risks and providing clear reporting to senior stakeholders

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong contract management experience within social housing, combined with demonstrable procurement experience.
