Manage day to day permit applications to ensure compliance across a range of measures, including but not limited to the following: Permit applications, Permit variations, Work starts, Work stops, Registrations.
General Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment
- Ensure data collected is accurate and error free
- Ensure all related service performance indicators and contractual requirements are met
- Monitor permits to prevent FPNs
- Raise permit applications as per works descriptions
- Check permit status
- Update Permit Trackers
- Apply NRSWA legislation including the charging and application of charges for Defects, Section 74, samples and related activities
- Manage permit disputes and support resolution processes
- Work effectively within a fast-paced environment while handling conflicting workloads and priorities
What you will need to succeed
- Strong understanding of highway maintenance and works
- Solid working knowledge of NRSWA, TMA and LoPS, including practical experience with legislation, defects and overrun charging processes
- Understanding of Section 50 and Section 81 processes
- Experience using permit management systems such as Aurora or Street Manager
- Strong financial awareness and competent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to challenging timescales and workloads
- Competent IT skills with the ability to adapt to various software, hardware and Asset Management Systems
- Ability to manage time and workloads to a strict schedule and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with other team members
