An immediate requirement has arisen for a Communications Business Partner to join our clients on a freelance basis, supporting their Highways, Transport & Planning function. This is a great opportunity for a communications professional who can work confidently with senior stakeholders and operational teams, while also being hands-on with campaigns, content and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver strategic communications and engagement plans
  • Lead proactive communications campaigns around highways and transport services
  • Create engaging content across websites, social media and other channels
  • Produce briefings, newsletters, FAQs and stakeholder communications
  • Provide communications advice to senior managers and project teams
  • Translate complex operational information into clear, accessible messaging
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across internal and external audiences
  • Support media, crisis and reactive communications when required
  • Use customer insight, complaints and enquiries to improve communications
  • Monitor campaign performance and stakeholder engagement

About You

  • Proven experience in communications, PR, public affairs, journalism or marketing
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities
  • Experience delivering communications or engagement campaigns
  • The ability to simplify complex information for different audiences
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Public sector or local government experience is desirable
