We're recruiting for a freelance Client & Public Liaison Officer to support a highways maintenance contract across the North West. This is an immediate start opportunity offering a competitive day rate on a month-to-month rolling contract.

As a Client & Public Liaison Officer, you'll manage customer enquiries, stakeholder communications and public engagement activity linked to planned and reactive highway works. The Client & Public Liaison Officer will work closely with operational teams to deliver clear, timely and customer-focused communications.

Key responsibilities:
  • Handling customer enquiries and complaints in line with KPIs
  • Producing notices, emails and public communications
  • Supporting engagement with councillors, parish councils and community groups
  • Monitoring customer feedback and escalating issues where required
  • Supporting reporting, KPI tracking and stakeholder updates
Requirements:
  • Experience in customer engagement, communications or stakeholder-facing roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience handling customer complaints and escalations
Desirable:
  • Highways, infrastructure or local authority experience
  • CRM or customer case management system experience
  • Communications or stakeholder management qualifications
